BUBBLEMAKER

The PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) Bubblemaker program is a fantastic opportunity for younger campers (ages 8-9) to experience breathing underwater for the first time. Torch Lake offers so much to explore, and the Bubblemaker program is just an introduction to this way of exploring our world.

The program consists of one land class and a single dive at camp. The land class session runs through the basics of SCUBA equipment, safety, and skills. Campers stay close to shore under the direct supervision of a PADI professional. PADI limits the depth of these dives to 6 feet, which is still enough to get more than a taste of SCUBA.

Within those 6 feet, your young diver will see some camp history, fish, crayfish, and much more.  They will explore the rock bar that protects our sandy beach, play some games, and practice the skills they learned in the land class.

Please note: all participants must pass the yellow swim test. They must swim 50 feet, turn around, and swim 50 feet back without touching or resting.

The PADI Bubblemaker experience is not a certification.  This is an opportunity for your child to explore underwater with a PADI instructor.  It is not meant to allow for future diving on your own.
