HEALTH CENTER

Our new health centers are staffed with certified health officers that are ready to handle the vast majority of our medical needs. There is no need to worry about your camper getting the correct medication at the correct time. All medication is tightly controlled and administered per physician instructions. We coordinate with a general practitioner or hospitals in Traverse City or Charlevoix for more advanced medical care.  If you have any medical concerns, we can discuss them before camp, or you can speak with our health officer at dropoff.

STAFF TRAINING

We take safety very seriously at Hayo-Went-Ha Camps. In the weeks before camp, the staff are trained and certified in Red Cross First Aid, CPR, Lifeguarding, and Wilderness First Aid.  The Wilderness trip component of summer programs necessitates that our cabin leaders are prepared to handle the unexpected. In addition to certifications, we train our staff using scenarios developed from over 100 years of real outdoor experiences.
