KAYAKERS

The Kayakers Program offers an incredible twelve-day expedition through the stunning Lake Superior Provincial Park, located on the eastern shore of the world’s largest freshwater lake. Campers will embark on a thrilling journey by kayak, exploring remote sections of the park’s rugged beauty, from majestic waterfalls and secluded islands to breathtaking rocky shorelines.

The adventure begins with a week of training at camp, where campers practice paddling on our lakes and learn essential skills like packing and loading the kayaks. The group then travels to Wawa, Ontario, where they meet their experienced guides from Naturally Superior Adventures—a trusted outfitter with over 15 years of collaboration with camp. Before heading out onto the vast waters of Lake Superior, the guides lead campers through safety drills and paddling techniques on the warmer Michipicoten River. The next day, the group launches from Agawa Bay, paddling northward through some of the most remote and scenic sections of the park. Along the way, campers will explore untouched natural wonders, navigating challenging waters and experiencing the awe of the wilderness.

The trip concludes at the Naturally Superior Adventures paddling center in Michipicoten Bay, marking the end of an extraordinary journey. Throughout this expedition, certified sea kayak guides ensure safety, carrying advanced equipment and technology for safe nautical travel. Back at camp, participants will also enjoy all the fun and excitement of in-camp activities, making the Kayakers Program a perfect blend of adventure, learning, and camp camaraderie.
