YMCA Hayo-Went-Ha Camps, including YMCA Camp Torch Hayo-Went-Ha, YMCA Camp Arbutus Hayo-Went-Ha, and Sparks Day Camp, are operated by the State YMCA of Michigan. We run the website hayowentha.org. In this policy, “Hayo-Went-Ha,” “we,” and “us” refer to YMCA Hayo-Went-Ha Camps and the State YMCA of Michigan.
This policy explains what information we collect when you use hayowentha.org (the “Site”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

Information you give us

You can use most of the Site without telling us who you are. We collect personal information only when you choose to share it with us, in these ways:
Contact form. When you send us a message, we ask for your name, your email address, the subject of your inquiry, and your message.
Newsletter signup. When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your name and email address.
Event RSVPs. When you sign up for an event, such as a virtual rally, we ask for your name, your email address, your camper’s name, which event you plan to attend, whether you’d like to hear about future events, and anything else you choose to add.
Campership application. When you apply for a campership (financial assistance), we ask for information about each parent or guardian, including name, city, state, phone number, email address, employment status, and household income, along with copies of tax documents such as a W-2 or IRS Form 1040. We use this information only to review the application and administer our campership program, and it is seen only by Amanda Macaluso, Director of Alumni and Community Development.
Job references. When you complete a reference form for someone applying to work at camp, we ask for your name, email address, and mobile phone number, along with your responses about the applicant.
Google lead forms. If you submit your information through a form shown with one of our ads on Google, Google shares the contact details you enter (such as your name, email address, and phone number) with us so we can follow up with you.
Phone calls. If you call a phone number shown on the Site or in one of our ads, Google may provide us with details about the call, such as the caller’s area code, the time of the call, and how long it lasted.
Registration, donations, and job applications. Camp registration and staff applications are handled by CampBrain, donations are handled by Givebutter, and Double the Donation helps donors check whether an employer will match a gift. When you use one of those platforms, the information you enter is collected under that platform’s privacy policy as well as ours. Please review their policies before submitting information.
