Camper Health on Expeditions

The wilderness can be a wild and dangerous place! Luckily, our experienced outdoor health team aims to ensure that your camper stays safe both while they’re on-site with us and when they’re out on the trail with their cabin groups.

In order to maintain this standard, we enforce the following safety measures:

  • Upon departure, each cabin group receives a comprehensive and terrain-specific first-aid kit, which is equipped with all the necessary resources for our staff to handle any injury they may encounter while out in the field.
  • Prior to departure, counselors are briefed 1:1 with our Health Officers on any camper-specific medical needs before each trip. This includes medication schedules and any established treatment plans.
  • All counseling staff are trained in Wilderness First Aid to handle any situation that may arise during camp activities until advanced personnel arrive on the scene.
  • All cabin groups gone longer than four days are sent out with Wilderness First Responders to ensure medical proficiency while your kids are out on the trail.

Bed-Wetting

If your child has this problem, please fill in the appropriate space on the camper confidential form. We will deal with it appropriately and discreetly. If you have larger concerns or more details to share, please reach out to the camp director.

Allergy Management

Our camp is a nut-free campus. This means we do not allow any form of peanuts on our site to minimize the risk to campers with peanut allergies. Please do not send any products containing peanuts with your camper or in any care packages.

If applicable, please upload your child’s Allergy Action Plan when completing registration
