YMCA Hayo-Went-Ha Camps and the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy (GTRLC) are proud to announce a historic partnership that will permanently protect 350 acres at our Torch Lake camp. This landmark initiative not only preserves the natural beauty and ecological significance of this special place, but also strengthens the long term future of YMCA Hayo-Went-Ha Camps.
By protecting this land, we are ensuring that the camp experience, the landscape that has inspired generations, and our mission of youth development will continue to positively impact young people for years to come.
This initiative accomplishes three important goals:
Protect
Protecting the future financial sustainability of Hayo-Went-Ha Camps through the creation of a permanent endowment.
Preserve
Preserving more than 350 acres of forests, shoreline, wetlands, and natural habitat from future development.
Pass It On
Ensuring that future generations of young people can continue to experience the friendships, leadership development, confidence, adventure, and sense of belonging that camp provides.
