In the Trailblazer Program, campers finishing fourth grade enjoy all that camp has to offer: swimming, ziplining, climbing the rock wall, arts and crafts, sailing, canoeing, and making new friends! Our staff focuses on fun, safety, and creating bonds among all the campers in the cabin group.
On their wilderness trip, participants practice the basics of canoeing on the beautiful Boardman River just outside of Traverse City, paddling 4.3 miles downstream before setting up camp for the night. The adventure begins at Forks Campground, where the group launches, and concludes at Schecks Campground, where they’ll spend the night. Campers will also prepare their own foil dinners to cook over the campfire in their introduction to outdoor cooking as a new skill set.
