The Pathfinder group will enjoy traditional summer camp activities like swimming, ziplining, climbing our rock wall, arts and crafts, sailing, canoeing, archery, and especially making new friends. Our staff for this program focus on fun, safety, and creating a solid cabin group dynamic.
As Pathfinders, campers will dive deeper into the wilderness adventures at YMCA Hayo-Went-Ha camps with a three-day exploration of the stunning Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, where they’ll hike over 27 challenging dunes to reach the shores of Lake Michigan. A highlight of the trip is an evening hike through the Devil’s Bowl, where they’ll witness a breathtaking sunset. Campers will expand their knowledge of backcountry living during their two-night stay by sleeping in tents and helping staff prepare meals on camp stoves. The shared experience on the trip fosters strong bonds among cabinmates.
