PATHFINDERS

The Pathfinders Program will enjoy the Polar Bear Swim, ride the zipline, challenge themselves with our six climbing routes on the climbing wall, create great arts and crafts projects, learn how to sail and canoe, enjoy a game of ultimate frisbee or soccer and make a LOT of new friends!

Our staff focus on fun, safety, and creating a solid cabin group in the cabin. As Pathfinders, campers dive deeper into the wilderness adventures at YMCA Hayo-Went-Ha camps.

Their journey includes a three-day exploration of the stunning Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, where they’ll hike over 27 challenging dunes to reach the shores of Lake Michigan. A highlight of the trip is an evening hike through the Devil’s Bowl, where they’ll witness a breathtaking sunset. During their two-night stay, campers will expand their knowledge of backcountry living by sleeping in tents, helping staff prepare meals on camp stoves, and forming strong bonds with their cabin mates.

Pathfinders are some of the most energetic girls on camp. The Sleeping Bear Dunes provide the perfect challenge for girls this age. It's so much fun to watch Pathfinders become more comfortable outdoors, improve self-confidence, and grow close with their cabin mates. Camp provides an opportunity for younger girls to reconnect to nature and escape the stresses of school and technology, and to be surrounded by encouraging and open-minded peers and staff who deeply care about each other.
