We’re thrilled to share that our 2024 Campfire Chat on Tuesday, December 3rd, was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special virtual gathering. If you missed it, don’t worry—you can still catch all the inspiring moments in the recording!
During the event, we:
- Celebrated Achievements: JC Carlson, our CEO, delivered a heartfelt “State of the Camp” address, highlighting accomplishments and unveiling exciting initiatives for the future of YMCA Hayo-Went-Ha Camps.
- Advanced the Keepers of the Flame Campaign: We shared updates on our end-of-year giving campaign and emphasized the critical role your support plays in ensuring the camp’s legacy for generations to come.
- Shared Inspiring Visions: Board Members reflected on the camp’s enduring impact and shared their vision for the future.
- Engaged with the Community: The Q&A session allowed attendees to connect directly with leadership and share their thoughts.
This event, held on Giving Tuesday, perfectly aligned with our Kindness Spreads Campaign, showcasing the power of generosity and community.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this evening so special. If you haven’t already, check out the recording and reignite your passion for camp!
This will be an annual event ever Giving Tuesday so please mark your calendar for Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025.
See you at camp soon!
The State YMCA of Michigan operates YMCA Hayo-Went-Ha Camps through its two sites, Arbutus Lake (for Girls) and Torch Lake (for Boys). We inspire and empower campers through transformative wilderness experiences. Through dynamic programming at camp and powerful experiences on expeditions, campers learn empathy and discover their place in the world.
